First Day of School 2019

The first day of school started off with a thunderstorm.  Taking our traditional outside pictures was quite challenging.  I just don't remember a first day ever being so dark out.

Aside from the weather, it was a pretty calm start to the day.  No one was going to a new school so the kids were more excited to see their friends and begin a new year than worrying about getting lost or not being able to open a locker.

Hailey is in the middle of the middle this year.  She has decided 7th grade will be the year of Hailey.  She learned the ropes in sixth grade.  We have been working a bit on her confidence issues, so I think this year is going to be a good one for her.

So a calm start to the year except that this guy, my little baby boy, is a Senior this year.  This is his last first day.  How is that even happening?  Not to mention the fact that he is driving himself and his brother to school.  It seems like it was a year ago when Spencer used to drive Evan around the yard and street in our Power Wheels 4x4.   Don't mind me, I'll just be over here singing "Sunrise, Sunset" all year long.

Evan is a Sophomore this year.  He is taking on a pretty heavy load of classes plus playing JV tennis.  I have no doubt he will handle it all like a champ.  The boy is skilled at time management and knows how to do what he has to do to get it all done.

I hope and pray for a great year for all of us!
