Chocolate and eggs

We had a super fun Easter weekend this year.  I love it when Easter is later in the season.  It just seems more springy and Eastery to hunt for eggs when there is not snow on the ground.  This year we were blessed with beautiful weather.

Get ready for some picture overload.  The kids kept their tradition of coloring eggs.

There were a lot of laughs and many a goofy moment.

They wouldn't indulge Hailey and I with too much coloring.  You can see that their eggs are pretty pastel, but at least they did it.

Hailey made a Jesus egg.

On Easter morning they hunted the house for eggs and their baskets.

Since the weather was so nice, we switched it up this year and hid half of the eggs inside to hunt in the morning and half outside for the afternoon.  Hailey was thrilled!  She said it was her dream come true to have an outside hunt.

I don't know what Spencer is all about with that box.  Maybe his almost eighteen year old self didn't want to run around the yard with his basket.  I have learned to choose my battles carefully.

Hailey made her now famous bunny cake again this year.

We spent lots of the day outside.  Grama came over for dinner and to play some tennis with the kids in the street.

After dinner we tried to take some family photos.

Grama took about a hundred pictures of us and I swear this was the best one.  Someone always had eyes closed or the angle was off.  It was kind of crazy.

Later on when the sun went down a bit we attempted to take a decent one.

The handsome boys.

I didn't even plan for us all to match.  It just kind of worked out that way.

We have kind of perfected our family selfie game.  These turned out so much better than the other family shots.

It was a happy Easter!

March madness

March was an extremely busy month for us.  The past few years we have had two major shows going on so that lends it self to a bit of the chaos.

Hailey started up a new craft when I purchased her this latch hook kit.  I used to love doing these when I was a youngster.  Of course emojiis didn't exist back then.

I took Evan and Hailey to see Captain Marvel which was AWESOME.  We can't wait until Avengers Endgame comes to theatres!

The schools always have a big push for March is reading month.  It is not often I see an opportunity to snap a picture of my girl reading for fun.

She will do art for fun though.  This was her submission into the contest for the 6th grade science camp tee shirt.   She made the top ten, but unfortunately didn't get chosen. I thought she did a great job.

I made the boys pose in front of the sign for The Little Mermaid so that I could promote it on social media.

Hailey and I took some walks down to the beach.  This day was a beautiful one!

She was determined to step on the ice shelf.  Her boots got soaked of course.

She wanted to pose like The Little Mermaid.

Then she wanted to pose like a fancy model.

Trent and I went out on St. Patty's Eve to Unruly to listen to the Irish music.

These two determined not to get pinched.

An almost sunset at the beach.

Our show boys in show shirts.

And in costume.

Evan's lily pad costume.  I couldn't love this more.

Except for maybe his Merman costume. LOVE!

The show happened to be the first weekend of the cousin's spring break so they swung over to Michigan on their way out east to visit and see the show.

Part of the boys' Christmas gift was tickets to see The Book of Mormon.  The only day we could go was the day after their weekend of performances.  They were exhausted!

We had tickets in the loge - which was interesting.  Sort of weird to turn your head to watch but you also felt like you had tons of room to stretch out.

The boys ready to hop in and tour with the show.  They laughed a lot at the sometimes inappropriate humor.

Spencer was inducted into the Tri M Music Society at Mona Shores.  It is the first year they have done this at MS.

Our first afternoon of Spring Break.  We hit the beach.  Who needs Florida?

Hailey joined the tennis team and was super motivated to practice over break.  I think we hit the courts like five different times.  Some days we wore gloves.  Brr.

It is finally starting to feel spring like around here.  We are all excited for a fun filled April!
